Worried about your double chin (gathering of excess fat beneath the chin)? Want to get rid of your Turkey Neck? Consider Kybella in New York and New Jersey with Palisades. Kybella (FDA approved injectable drug) contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness due to submental fat. Kybella is a synthetic deoxycholic acid that is injected with a fine needle into the fatty tissue of your submental area (also known as your double chin). Deoxycholic acid is a naturally found molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. Kybella can destroy fat cells resulting in noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin, once destroyed these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal. Kybella can destroy fat cells and disable them from accumulating or storing fat in the future.
Up to 6 treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results, 4-6 weeks apart. The number of injections will depend on the amount of submental fat being treated, and your desired profile. After your consultation your practitioner will clean the area, mark out the area to be injected and place a temporary marking device on skin so that the exact injection points have been identified. 4-6 ml can be delivered in 0.2 ml injections spaced approximately 1 cm apart per treatment session. A 30 gauge needle is used to inject Kybella. Topical anesthetic is applied to decrease the pain at injection site. Ice is applied immediately after injections are complete. Minimal bruising may occur. Patients can resume normal activities after their Kybella treatment. Optimal results of treatment are seen approximately one month post treatment.
